For Job Seekers

Engineering Career Central collects some personal information for its registered users at the users consent.  Registration as a job seeker on the website requires, at minimum, a username, password and email address.  Users can opt to include their personal information (e.g. address, phone numbers) for use when applying to job postings through the website.

Engineering Career Central does not collect any sensitive information.

• When you register an account on the website you are asked to provide a username password and email address.  It is optional to include your name, address, phone number and degree of study
• Your username and password are used to recognize you as a registered user an grant you access to the members only area of the website
• Your email address is stored in case you need to be contacted regarding your account with Engineering Career Central

For Employers

Engineering Career Central collects information about your organization when you register.  Upon registration, you are required to provide at least:

• Your organizations name
• A contact name
• Billing address
• Phone number
• Fax number
• Email Address
• Information is generally used for products/service provision, contact and user identification and authentication
• When you proceed to make a post with your organizations account, you will be asked to provide information that job seekers can use to apply or contact you

Cookies

A cookie is a small file containing data which can include a unique identifier for your computer.  This file is stored on your computers hard drive by the web server.  They do not actively collect/gather information about you.

• You can set your web browser to allow or disallow cookies automatically or prompt you asking if you want to allow or disallow them any time you choose
• Cookies are generally used to identify you as logged in when you sign into your account.  Therefore, if you have disabled cookies in your web browser you may have problems accessing the content in the members area of the website
• Cookies are usually not used during the job searching process both when logged in as a member and when not logged in so having cookies disabled should not prevent you from using the searching service

• Engineering Career Central uses encryption when storing your passwords in the user database
• Engineering Career Central does not share or sell your personal information to any third party, however, there may be certain situations where Engineering Career Central can disclose your information (e.g. violation of the terms and agreements, legal situations)
• Information contained in a Hire Me! Profile is viewable by all registered employer members
• If the situation arises where Engineering Career Central is merged with or acquired by another company your information may be transferred
• It may be required to share your personal information in order to investigate, prevent or take action in the event of illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Engineering Career Central terms and agreements, or as otherwise required by law

Modifying and Deleting your Account Information

• You can modify your account information at anytime via the members section of the website
